AMR
Ramesh,
who
is
known
for
movies
based
on
real
incidents,
is
back
with
Aspota,
which
is
based
on
Rajiv
Gandhi's
assassination.
The
movie
had
a
simple
launch
yesterday
in
the
presence
of
several
police
officers.
Ramesh
has
made
two
films
based
on
true
incidents
-
Cyanide
and
Attahasa.
Both
were
successful
considering
the
return
of
investment.
But
his
last
film,
Game,
sank
at
the
box
office
without
any
trace.
With
the
failure
of
Game,
AMR
Ramesh
is
back
to
his
safe
zone
-
making
films
based
on
real
life
incidents.
This
time,
he
has
taken
up
yet
another
controversial
subject
and
he
is
very
confident
of
pulling
it
off.
Apparently,
Ramesh
has
been
working
on
this
subject
for
years
now
and
he
was
waiting
for
the
right
moment
to
launch
the
subject.
In
the
last
few
months,
he
has
finalized
the
script
with
the
inputs
of
the
investigating
officers
of
Rajiv
Gandhi's
case.
In
the
launch
yesterday,
officers
who
cracked
the
very
difficult
Rajiv
Gandhi's
case
-
R
Karthikeyan,
Retired
Special
Director
CCB,
Retired
Police
Officers
K
Srinivasan,
Gopal
Hosur
and
Ramalingam,
CCB
ACP
K
V
Sharath
Chandra
were
present.
They
revealed
that
they
had
given
inputs
and
case
details
to
Ramesh
and
handed
over
the
script
of
Aspota
to
AMR
Ramesh.
Also,
they
insisted
Ramesh
to
shoot
only
what
had
happened
and
not
to
sensationalize
the
incidents
or
criminals.
The
film
will
be
told
from
investigating
officer
R
Karthikeyan's
angle.
Ramesh
confirmed
that
casting
is
yet
to
happen.
However,
he
said
that
Sudeep
and
Darshan
will
suit
for
the
role
of
Karthikeyan
but
he
is
yet
to
speak
with
the
stars.
Also,
he
is
planning
to
contact
Vikram
for
the
Tamil
version
and
Akshay
Kumar
for
the
Hindi
Version.
We
hear
that
star
cinematographer
Rathnavelu
will
be
cranking
camera
for
this
film
which
will
be
simultaneously
made
in
Kannada,
Tamil,
Malayalam
and
Hindi.
