Sundaranga
Jaana,
which
was
scheduled
for
a
grand
release
on
December
9,
has
been
postponed
to
December
23.
The
team
has
not
revealed
the
reasons
behind
the
postponement
of
the
release
date.
As
per
the
insiders,
Geetha
Arts
who
has
co-produced
the
film,
is
releasing
their
Telugu
film
Dhruva
on
December
9,
and
they
did
not
want
the
movies
to
clash
on
the
same
date.
Sundaranga
Jaana
would
have
had
an
impact
on
Dhruva's
collections
in
Karnataka
if
both
had
released
on
the
same
day.
This
postponement
will
give
the
Telugu
release
an
advantage
as
there
are
no
other
big
Kannada
films
releasing
on
Dec
9.
Also,
the
other
reports
suggest
that
producers
were
not
ready
to
experiment
as
demonetization
is
still
affecting
the
Kannada
movies'
collections.
This
is
quite
evident
as
none
of
the
releases
in
the
last
few
weeks
managed
to
get
decent
collections.
With
postponement
of
Sundaranga
Jaana,
John
Jani
Janardhan
will
have
a
solo
release
on
December
9
and
this
should
help
the
film
to
get
good
openings.
Distributors
Jayanna
Films
is
planning
to
increase
the
theater
count
as
it
is
a
solo
release.
John
Jani
Janardhan
was
supposed
to
release
on
November
11th
but
makers
postponed
the
release
to
December
9
due
to
sudden
note
ban.
We
will
have
to
wait
and
see
whether
the
decision
of
the
producers
was
right.
As
we
reported
earlier,
Sundaranga
Jaana
distribution
rights
for
Karnataka
has
been
bagged
by
Gokul
Films.
They
are
planning
to
release
in
200
odd
theaters
release
in
Karnataka
and
the
makers
are
planning
for
simultaneous
release
in
other
metropolitan
cities
as
well.
