Actress
turned
film-maker
Vijayalakshmi
Singh
is
all
set
to
create
a
record
in
Sandalwood
by
becoming
the
first
mother
to
direct
her
own
children
in
a
Kannada
movie.
Yes,
the
former
spouse
of
Jai
Jagadish
will
soon
direct
her
3
daughters
in
a
flick
titled,
Yaanaa.
The
film
will
reportedly
be
supported
by
Jai
Jagadish
and
will
launch
Vaibhavi,
Vainidhi
and
Vaisiri
in
lead
roles.
Talking
to
Times
of
India,
Vijayalakshmi
has
opened
up
about
the
project.
"This
film
revolves
around
a
coming-of-age
subject
that
will
appeal
to
today's
youngsters.
Like
the
title
suggests,
it
is
about
a
journey.
I've
been
working
on
the
subject
for
the
past
couple
of
years
and
I'm
thrilled
that
I
got
my
daughters
to
play
the
leading
ladies.
This
will
be
the
first
time
in
the
Kannada
film
industry
that
a
mother
is
directing
her
daughters
in
a
film."
Talking
about
how
she
managed
to
get
her
daughters
on
board,
she
has
said,
"That
was
the
trickiest
part.
I
had
begun
writing
the
script
a
long
time
ago,
but
I'd
never
thought
about
the
cast.
I
would
discuss
the
story
with
my
daughters,
since
they
are
my
best
critics.
When
I
felt
I
was
ready
to
make
the
film
and
told
them
I
wanted
the
three
of
them
to
play
the
leads,
I
was
happy
that
they
said
yes.
It
worked
out
for
me
that
all
of
them
were
ready
to
act."
She
has
also
said
that
she
is
currently
looking
for
actors
to
play
the
male
lead.
"I
am
looking
for
three
fresh
faces
as
heroes
for
this
film.
Many
of
my
industry
friends
have
agreed
to
be
a
part
of
the
film
as
part
of
the
supporting
cast."
The
film
will
be
shot
in
and
around
India
including
Goa.
"Goa,
for
me,
is
liberating
and
a
favourite
destination.
Since
the
journey
of
the
film
can
accommodate
Goa,
we
will
be
hitting
the
beach
hotspots
too," she
has
said.
