Mithra and Bhama starrer Raaga that released on April 21, in over 60 centers garnered good responses from critics. But this did not help the film or its makers as audience did not throng to theatress to watch the film despite the fantastic reviews.
With the not-so-encouraging collections, the film was replaced or shows were decreased in first weekend itself in centers like Mandya. The makers blame theatres owners that they are not giving a chance for the collections to improve and killing the film within first few days of release.
With Telugu film Baahubali releasing big, producer and actor Mithra had to witness even worse consequences wherein film was not supposed to continue in any theatres or multiplex in its second week.
Director PC Shekar posted a video on social networking sites where he emotionally spoke about the situation of Kannada films in Karnataka.
Sa Ra Govindu, President of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) intervened and called the makers of Raaga for a meeting where he spoke with theatres owners and multiplexes regarding the allocation of shows for the film in second week.
Finally, film managed to get two shows in main theatres Kapali for the second week and also five shows each in multiplexes for two days. Now the makers are optimistic of good responses from audience which will get them more shows in multiplexes over the week.
