Nag
Known
popularly
as
the
Karate
King
of
Sandalwood,
Shankar
Nag
died
on
the
wee
hours
of
September
30,
1990
in
a
car
accident
near
Anegodu,
Davangere
district.
The
famous
actor
was
heading
back
to
Bengaluru
after
finishing
shooting
for
the
film,
Jokumaraswamy.
The
news
of
his
death
hit
his
fans
abysmally.
Even
to
this
day,
people
still
remember
the
iconic
actor.
Kalpana
Minugu
Taare
Kalpana,
as
she
is
fondly
remembered
in
Sandalwood
till
date,
died
on
May
30,
1979.
The
actress
who
was
then
37
years
old
committed
suicide
as
her
marriage
fell
apart.
Kalpana
was
a
brilliant
artist
having
won
multiple
State
and
Filmfare
awards
for
her
stellar
performance
in
over
50
films.
Suneel
The
then
young
actor
of
Sandalwood,
Suneel,
tragically
died
in
a
road
accident.
Suneel,
who
hailed
from
Mangalore,
was
introduced
to
Sandalwood
by
Dwarkeesh.
He
was
paired
with
actress
Malashri
in
most
of
his
films.
Interestingly,
both
Suneel
and
Malashri
were
dating
each
other
and
the
actress
was
with
Suneel
in
the
same
car
when
the
accident
happened.

Malashri
miraculously
escaped
from
the
jaws
of
death,
Suneel
unfortunately
lost
his
life.

after

suicide

very
young
