Shivarajkumar's
next
movie
Leader
had
created
decent
buzz
with
its
huge
star
cast
and
good
teaser.
The
film
is
in
the
final
stages
of
production
and
now
the
film
is
embroiled
in
a
'title'
controversy
yet
again.
When
the
film's
title
was
initially
announced
as
Mass
Leader
in
2014,
producer
Raghunath
had
objected
the
title
as
he
had
titled
his
film
as
"The
Leader" which
had
Kichcha
Sudeep
playing
the
lead
role,
directed
by
Prakash
Jayaram.
After
a
few
weeks
this
issue
had
lost
fizz
as
the
film
of
Raghunath
and
Sudeep
was
shelved
for
unknown
reasons.
That
is
when
Raghunath
presented
his
film
title
to
Tarun
Shivappa,
producer
of
Shivanna's
Mass
Leader.
Since
then,
makers
have
been
using
"Leader"
as
title
in
all
their
promotional
materials.
In
a
surprise
move,
director
AMR
Ramesh
approached
KFCC
a
few
months
ago
saying
that
the
title
"Leader"
was
registered
under
his
banner
Vasista
Pictures
in
2010.
Ramesh
also
revealed
that
this
film
was
supposed
to
be
produced
and
directed
by
himself.
He
had
worked
almost
two
years
on
this
film
and
visited
jails
and
a
few
authentic
locations
for
researching
on
this
subject,
which
was
based
on
true
incidents.
Back
in
2010,
Ramesh
and
Music
Director
Emil
had
recorded
four
songs
for
the
film.
Script
was
also
completed
but
film
put
on
back
burner,
as
makers
could
not
find
a
suitable
artiste
for
playing
the
lead
role.
As
per
the
latest
update,
MG
Ramamurthy
(General
Secretary
of
KFCC)
has
directed
the
makers
of
Shivanna
starrer
Leader
to
stop
using
the
title
as
it
lawfully
belongs
to
AMR
Ramesh
of
Vasista
Pictures.
