The actor was one of the first South stars to comment on the Padmavat row. During an interview with a leading daily, the actor had said that 'wrecking the system' is not going to solve any problems.
"We have a system. If we wreck it, what will our society become? There are certain rules to follow and we also have a Censor Board. I'm not saying don't protest against something you don't like. You can protest (peacefully), call the director and speak with him," he had said.
He Is Not Afraid Of Controversies
The Hollywood star has also never shied away from making films revolving around sensitive/ burning issues. His critically-acclaimed H2o is a case in point. The film dealt with the Cauvery dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and raised a few hard-hitting questions. Even though the film ran into trouble with the political class, it managed to impress the critics nonetheless.
