The Villain Day 1 Box Office Collections: Sudeep-Shivarajkumar’s film Opens On A Solid Note

According to the latest reports, The Villain did well at the box office and collected nearly Rs 6.50 Crore in Karnataka itself. Its worldwide collections stand at Rs 12.50 Crore. The film had generated plenty of pre-release buzz and its tickets sold like hot cakes. As such, the Day 1 collections were expected to be impressive and The Villain has lived up to these expectations.
The Biggest Release For A Kannada Film
The Villain has been released on 1000 screens worldwide and this is a record for a Kannada movie. In Karnataka, it has been released on 500 screens and this might help it rake in plenty of money in the opening week. Given the high budget and the wide release, it needs to have a long run at the box office in order to emerge as a winner.
The WOM Is Mixed
The general feeling is that The Villain is a decent film that has its moments. Shivarajkumar and Sudeep have received rave reviews for their performances and this indicates that the film is going to click with their fans. However, at the same time, a few critics have pointed out that the screenplay is not too good. As such, the WOM is mixed and it will be worth watching whether this affect The Villain in the long run or not.
