The dashing Sudeep is beyond any doubt, one of the biggest and most successful names in the Kannada film industry. Fondly called 'Abhinay Chakravarthy', the versatile actor enjoys a strong fan following thanks to his elegant screen presence, dashing looks and remarkable performances. A self-made star, Sudeep has also won the love of countless movie goers because of his 'never give up' attitude. At present, he is in the news courtesy his latest release The Villain.
Directed by Prem, the film hit the screens on October 18, 2018 and opened to a thunderous response at the ticket window. It has remained relatively stable ever since. Here is the latest box office update.
Day 12 Collections
According to the latest trade estimates, The Villain collected nearly Rs 1.50 Crore at the Karnataka box office on Monday(October 29, 2018) and continued its glorious run. The figure is lower than what it had collected on Sunday(October 28, 2018). However, this is a decent total considering that Monday is a weekday.
The Next Few Days Are Critical
The Villain is one of the biggest and most ambitious Kannada films in the recent times. In Week 1, it was released on over 500 screens in Karnataka alone and this was a record in its own right. It is playing on a good number of screens in Week 2 as well. The Villain has been shot against a budget of Rs 60 Crore and given the high budget and the scale of its release, it needs to remain strong in the days to come in order to emerge as a success.
The WOM Is Mixed
The general feeling is that The Villain has its moments and it does full justice to Deepanna's on-screen image. However, Shivanna fans are unhappy about the film as the 'Hattrick Hero' has been given less importance than Sudeep. The screenplay too has been criticised for being 'illogical'. As such, the WOM is mixed. And, it this might affect the film in the days to come.
The Way Ahead...
Sudeep and SRK are the biggest names in Kannada cinema today. Their popularity is likely to help The Villain remain strong in the days to come and break a few records. Enough Said!
