The charming Shivarajkumar is arguably, one of the biggest and most successful stars in the Kannada film industry. Fondly referred to as the 'Simple Ruing King', the star enjoys a strong fan following courtesy his gripping screen presence, impressive looks and versatility as an actor. A veteran in his own right, SRK has also won the love of countless movie goers courtesy his down-to-earth nature .
At present, he is in the news because of his latest big film The Villain.
Directed by Prem, the drama hit the screens on October 18, 2018 and opened t a good response at the Karnataka box office. Two weeks after its release, The Villain is still the top pick of the audience and it's raking in the moolah big time. Here is the complete report.
Day 14 Collections
As per the latest trade reports, The Villain managed to collect nearly Rs 1.10 Crore at the Karnataka box office on Wednesday(October 31, 2018) and stayed strong. The figure is slightly lower than what the film had collected on Tuesday(October 30, 2018). However, there is nothing alarming about this as The Villain has already completed 2 weeks in the theatres.
Week 3 Is Crucial For The Film
The Villain has been shot against a budget of Rs 60 Crore and this makes it a pretty high risk venture. The film has ruled the box office so far. However, it still can't afford to slow down. The Villain must stay strong in Week 3 also in order to maximise the returns.
Will The Mixed WOM Wreck The Villain in Week 3?
The general feeling is that The Villain is a decent film and it features a terrific performance from Sudeep. However, Shivanna's fans are not too happy about the output as their star has been given relatively less importance when compared to Sudeep. As such, the WOM is mixed. And, needless to say, this could be a cause of worry for the makers in Week 3.
The Way Ahead...
The Sharan starrer Victory 2 hit the screens today(November 1, 2018). Being a relatively important film, it is likely to slow down The Vilain a bit. However, Prem's film is still likely to remain the choice of the ‘Kichcha Army' in the days to come.
