The Villain Day 15 Box Office Collections: Shivarajkumar-Sudeep's Film Fails To Show Good Growth
As far as the fans of Kannada cinema are concerned, Sudeep is a name that needs virtually no introduction at all. Affectionately called 'Kichcha', the star enjoys a strong fan following courtesy his suave personality, good looks, remarkable performances and versatility as an actor. In fact, his fans feel that he is the heart and soul of Sandalwood. At present, he is in the news because of his latest release The Villain. The movie hit the screens on October 18, 2018, and opened to a good response at the box office.
Now, nearly 15 days later, The Villain seems to have become a bit stagnant at the box office. Here is the latest box office report.
Day 15 Collections
As per the latest trade estimates, The Villain collected nearly Rs 1 Crore at the Karnataka box office on Thursday (November 1, 2018) and remained fairly stable. It did reasonably well at the international box office as well. Its 15-day worldwide box office gross is all set to cross Rs 100 Crore in a day or two.
A Disappointment!
The general feeling is that the 15th day collections are not as good as expected, considering the fact that November 1, 2018, was a holiday because of Karnataka Rajyotsava. As such, it seems that The Villain has reached its peak and it is unlikely to show much growth in the days to come.
Did Victory 2 Affect The Villain?
Actor Sharan's Victory 2 hit the screens yesterday and received decent reviews from the target audience. The favourable response to the film seems to have affected The Villain to some extent. And, this might be another big reason for the less and optimal performance of the movie at the BO on Thursday.
The Road Ahead...
Given Shivarajkumar and Sudeep's popularity, The Villain should be able to hold its own in the days to come and rake in some more moolah. However, because of the mixed WOM, it is unlikely to remain the top choice of the fans in the coming days.
