According to the latest reports, The Villain collected nearly Rs 3.5 Crore at the Karnataka box office on Day 2 and remained steady. The film's 2-day Karnataka gross stands at Rs 10.5 Crore. Needess to say, this is quite an impressive figure and proves that The Villain mania has gripped Karnataka.
The Stakes Are Pretty High
The biggest Kannada film in the recent times, The Villain has been released on 1000 screens worldwide. In Karnataka alone, it has been released on 500 screens and this might help it rake in the moolah in the opening week and rule the box office. Given its impressive budget and the wide release, The Villain needs to have a long and successful run at the box office in order toemerge as a profitable venture.
TheThe WOM Is Mixed
The general feeling is that The Villain is a delight for Sudeep's die-hard fans and it features quite a few good scenes. However, at the same time, a few critics have said that the screenplay is a bit ‘illogical' at points. Moreover, the Shivanna army is a bit upset as Sudeep has been given more prominence than the ‘Simple Ruling King'. As such, the WOM is a mixed.
