The Villain Day 5 Box Office Collections: Sudeep-Shivarajkumar's Film Continues To Rule The BO!

The Prem directorial hit the screens on October 18, 2018, and collected nearly Rs 18 Crore at the Karnataka box office during the four-day extended weekend. On Monday (October 22, 2018), it stayed strong and raked in more money at the box office. Here is the complete report.

According to the latest trade estimates, The Villain collected between Rs 4 and Rs 6 Crore at the Karnataka box office on Monday and stayed as the top choice of the fans. Its total Karnataka collections currently stand at around Rs 24 Crore. One is likely to get a clearer picture of The Villain's BO performance once the official figures are released.
The Stakes Are High
The Villain has been released on 1000 screens across the globe and this makes it the biggest Sandalwood film in the recent times. Given the grand and wide release, The Villain needs to stay strong at the box office for atleast another 15 days in order to be considered a 'superhit'. In other words, the next few days are crucial for the film.
The WOM Mixed
The general feeling is that The Villain features an 'illogical' storyline and a weak screenplay. However, at the same time, most critics have pointed out that the film is bound to click with Sudeep and Shivarajkumar's die-hard fans. As such, the WOM is mixed and this might affect the film down the line.
