The Prem directorial hit the screens on October 18, 2018 and opened to a phenomenal response at the Karnataka box office. It has been raking in the moolah ever since. Here is the attest box office update.
According to the latest trade estimates, The Villain collected nearly 1 Crore at the box office on November 6, 2018 and continued its dream run. Its 20-day gross at the worldwide box office currently stands at Rs 123 Crore which is a pretty healthy number.
A Big Winner
The Villain is one of the most ambitious Kannada films in the recent times. It has been shot against a budget of Rs 60 Crore and was released on more than 500 screens in Karnataka in Week 1. As such, it needed to perform exceptionally well in order to emerge as a winner. And, judging by the latest figures, it has lived done just that.
The Villain Beats The Mixed WOM
The Villain managed to impress Sudeep fans as they felt that it did full justice to his mass hero image. However, it failed to satisfy Shivarajkumar's fans as Shivanna has a relatively smaller role than Deepanna. Moreover, several critics criticised the screenplay and termed it as ‘illogical'. As such, the WOM was mixed. The latest figures indicate that the film has overcome the mixed WOM like a boss,
The Way Ahead...
The Villain is a landmark film for Sandalwood and there are no ways about this. The film is likely to rake in some more money in the coming days before ending its run on a glorious note.
