Kabzaa Satellite & OTT Business: Upendra, Shiva Rajkumar & Kiccha Sudeep's Period Gangster Film Sets A Record!
For the satellite rights, a popular south-Indian channel is said to have shelled out Rs 10 Crore.
One of the most awaited movies from the Kannada film industry, Kabzaa, starring Upendra; featuring Shiva Rajkumar, and Kiccha Sudeep in crucial roles hit the screens all over the world on March 17, amid huge expectations. The movie is a pan-India venture and was dubbed into Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi. The movie met with a positive to mixed response at the box office.
However, owing to the project's craze, Kabzaa's pre-release business including satellite and digital rights fetched a good amount of money for the makers of the film. Kabzaa is made on a budget of Rs 120 Crore and was in production for a long time. Written, co-produced, and directed by R Chandru, Kabzaa's digital streaming rights were sold out to Amazon Prime Video for a whopping Rs 140 Crore. For the satellite rights, a popular south-Indian channel is said to have shelled out Rs 10 Crore, which makes it Rs 150 Crore. For Kabzaa to achieve break-even, it only needs to perform well at the box office during the opening weekend.
Kabzaa is the story of an Air Force Soldier named Arakeshwara, who turns into an underworld leader. The entire story was set in the backdrop of the 1930s, the pre-independence era. At the same time, Bhargav Bhakshi, a strict cop was commissioned by the British to tackle Arakeshwara. What happens between them is to be seen on the silver screen.
Other than the actors mentioned above, Kabzaa stars Shriya Saran, Murali Sharma, Nawab Shah, John Kokken, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sudha, Kabir Duhan Singh, Dev Gill, Taaha Shah, Pramod Shetty, B Suresh, and Tanya Hope among others in crucial roles.
Kabzaa is co-produced by R Chandru; produced by Alankar Pandian, and Anand Pandit under the Anand Pandit Motion Pictures, Sri Siddheshwara Enterprises, and Invenio Origin banners. The movie's cinematography was handled by AJ Shetty and Mahesh S Reddy worked as the editor. KGF fame Ravi Basrur composed the entire film's music and score.
