Kannada's Popular Director SK Bhagavan Dies At Age 90, Condolences Pour In

Bhagavan was one of the popular director duo Dorai-Bhagavan. B Dorai Raj and SK Bhagavan have directed about 27 films together and most of them were successful films at the box office.

Prominent Kannada director SK Bhagavan, who was known for directing several films with legendary actor, the late Rajkumar, died due to age-related issues in Bengaluru on February 20. The entire Kannada Film Industry has mourned the greatest loss. From Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to the industry specifics, condolences poured in for the veteran.

Bommai took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "I was very saddened to hear the news of renowned director of Kannada film industry SK Bhagavan's death. I pray that God gives strength to his family to bear this pain." (sic)

Bhagavan was one of the popular director duo Dorai-Bhagavan. B Dorai Raj and SK Bhagavan have directed about 27 films together and most of them were successful films at the box office. Among those films, many of them starred the veteran late Rajkumar. They also directed several movies with popular actor Ananth Nag and Lakshmi.

In total, he directed 49 films in collaboration and on his own. His last film was his 50th, which was released in 2019. Some of Bhagavan's films include Kasthuri Nivasa, Nanooba Kalla, Odahuttidavaru, Giri Kanye, Benkiya Bale, Hosabelaku, Muniaya Madari, Samyada Gombe, Yarivanu, Operation Diamond Racket, Goa Dalli CID 999, and Jedrale Bale among others.
