are
expected
to
join
the
Bharatiya
Janata
Party
(BJP)
today
(April
5)
in
a
surprise
move
ahead
of
the
upcoming
assembly
elections
in
Karnataka.
The
actors
are
set
to
join
the
party
at
a
private
hotel
in
Bengaluru
in
the
presence
of
Chief
Minister
Basavaraj
Bommai
and
other
party
leaders.
Several
reports
have
disclosed
that
the
two
actors
are
scheduled
to
join
the
ruling
party
at
a
private
hotel
in
Bengaluru,
Karnataka
at
around
1:30
pm
and
2:30
pm.
The
Chief
Minister
of
Karnataka,
Basavaraj
Bommai,
and
other
party
leaders
will
be
present
during
the
actors'
induction
into
the
party.
While
there
have
been
previous
rumors
of
Kiccha
Sudeep's
potential
entry
into
politics,
the
actor
has
not
made
a
concrete
decision
on
the
matter.
He
has
confirmed
receiving
offers
from
various
political
parties
but
has
expressed
his
desire
to
consult
his
fans
before
making
any
decision.
Sudeep
has
recently
been
in
the
spotlight
for
being
named
the
brand
ambassador
for
the
Karnataka
government's
cattle
adoption
program
called
'Punyakoti
Dattu
Yojana,'
for
which
he
plans
to
adopt
31
cows,
one
for
each
district
of
Karnataka.
Karnataka
has
seen
several
actors
transition
into
politics,
including
the
late
actor
Ambareesh,
Jaggesh,
and
Divya
Spandana,
who
is
also
known
as
Ramya.
With
their
popularity,
Kiccha
Sudeep
and
Darshan
Thoogudeepa's
entry
into
politics
could
significantly
impact
the
upcoming
assembly
elections
in
Karnataka.
The
Assembly
elections
in
Karnataka
are
scheduled
for
May
10,
and
the
vote
count
will
take
place
on
May
13.
On
Tuesday,
Bommai
announced
that
the
list
of
candidates
for
the
state's
upcoming
Assembly
elections
would
be
finalized
and
published
by
the
Bharatiya
Janata
Party's
Parliamentary
Board
on
April
8.
