Kantara: Rishab Shetty Announces A Prequel To The Divine Blockbuster On The 100th Day Of Its Release

Marking the 100th day of its theatrical release, Rishab Shetty announced a prequel to the divine blockbuster. The movie, which depicts the age-old culture and tradition of the Uttara Kannada region, especially Tulu Nadu, ends on a shocking note when Shiva, who gets possessed by the 'Panjurli daiva,' vanishes into the forest to disappear and joins his father. While it was assumed that the 'Bhootha Kola' performer from the family has to sacrifice their life when it comes to protecting their land, a detailed explanation would have helped the viewers sleep better.
According to the popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh's tweet, the makers of the film-Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty have agreed to make a prequel to the movie. All other details of the same are awaited.
It was reported that Rishab Shetty said, "Everyone has been asking for updates on Kantara Part 2, but I would like to tell you that what you witnessed was the sequel. What we will be making next is the first part. We will showcase the happenings that unfolded before what you've watched."
Kantara was released all over Karnataka and a few other parts of the world alongside Mani Ratnum's magnum opus movie Ponniyin Selvan 1, on September 30. The movie was released amid zero expectations but went on to conquer the entire country with its unique content and exhilarating narration. The movie is one of the highest-grosser in the Sandalwood industry and made about Rs 450 Crore from all over the world.
The makers of KGF 1 & 2, Hombale Films, Vijay Kiragandur produced Kantara on a decent budget of Rs 16 Crore. The movie stars Sapthami Gowda as its female lead and has Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, Shine Shetty, and Prakash Thuminad among others in crucial roles.
