Chikkanna Faces Police Notice In Renuka Swamy Murder Case

Chikkanna Summoned for Questioning in Renuka Swamy Murder Case: Seventeen individuals, including Darshan and Pavithra Gowda, have been arrested so far in connection with the Renuka Swamy murder case. In a recent development, Chikkanna, another prominent actor in the Kannada film industry, has been issued a police notice for questioning, as per recent updates.

Why is Chikkanna Summoned for Questioning?

According to reports, Chikkanna was present at a private party hosted by Darshan at Stonny Brook, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bangalore, before the alleged murder occurred. Both Darshan and Chikkanna, along with a producer and others, attended the gathering. After the party concluded, Darshan reportedly returned home but allegedly later visited the shed where Renuka Swamy was subjected to violence and ultimately fatally assaulted.

Earlier today, police officials confirmed the arrest of Raju, alias Dhanraj, in connection with the ongoing investigation. Raju, identified as accused number nine in the initial remand application filed by the police, brings the total number of arrests to 17 in the case involving actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, Pavithra Gowda and others currently in police custody.

Authorities conducted mahazars at several suspects' residences, including those of Darshan and Pavithra, recovering significant evidence such as clothing items and seizing multiple vehicles linked to the crime.

Renuka Swamy's body was discovered on June 9 near a drainage area in Sumanahalli. Later, three of the 17 suspects surrendered to the police.

Further investigation uncovered a broader conspiracy involving Darshan, Pavithra, and others. Police officials revealed that Renuka Swamy had allegedly sent inappropriate messages and made offensive remarks on Pavithra's social media, which reportedly triggered the fatal attack.

According to police reports, Renuka Swamy was tortured after being brought to the city by another suspect, Raghavendra. He was subjected to physical abuse in a shed at RR Nagar before his body was disposed of. The autopsy report indicates that Renuka Swamy died from shock and haemorrhage.

The additional arrests include Vinay V, Nagaraju R, Laxman M, Pradosh S, Pawan K, Deepak Kumar M, Nandish, Nikhil Nayak, Raghavendra, Karthik, Keshava Murthy, Ravi, Jagadish alias Jagga, and Anu Kumar.

Chikkanna's summons for questioning is expected to add to the ongoing narrative surrounding the Renuka Swamy murder case, which has already garnered significant attention within Karnataka's entertainment industry and beyond.
