Kantara Prequel's Shooting Update & Release Date Update: The success and popularity of Rishab Shetty's directorial 'Kantara' which was released in 2022 is familiar to every film buff. The applause, appreciation, reviews and awards for Kantara made the movie an epic film that was ever made in India from the Kannada (Sandalwood) industry. Rishab Shetty became popular worldwide with the cultural and traditional aspects of the 'Uttara Kannada' region showcased to the world.

The movie enjoyed phenomenal success and raked the moolah during its theatrical run in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. At first, it was released in Kannada and the success of the film led to the dubbed versions popping up later on.

Kantara's Prequel Kantara: Chapter 1 Nears Completion
The climax of Kantara shows Siva following his father's footsteps by disappearing into the forest leaving his pregnant wife and mother. The actor-filmmaker surprised his fans by announcing a prequel to Kantara while everyone was expecting a sequel.

The sequel is nearing completion and only 20% of the movie is pending with the post-production works waiting to begin. An official update from the filmmakers is expected soon.

Kantara: Chapter 1 Release Date Buzz
Given the information that is going viral and the buzz around the prequel movie, the filmmakers Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty are planning to bring the movie in the early summer of 2025. Most likely, Kantara: Chapter 1 will hit the screens in May next year. It is worth mentioning that Kantara was also released in May of 2022.

Bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur of the Hombale Films banner, the prequel movie will feature Rishab Shetty and a set of other new actors along with the Kantara actors reprising their roles. Arvind S. Kashyap is cranking the camera while B. Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the music and score. The editing of the Kantara prequel will be taken care of by K.M. Prakash and Pratheek Shetty.
