Agnyathavasi OTT Release: The Kannada crime drama Agnyathavasi, which had a theatrical release on April 11, 2025, is now set for its digital premiere. The film will begin streaming on ZEE5 from May 28, allowing audiences who missed its run in cinemas to catch the mystery unfold from their homes.

Directed by Janardhan Chikkanna and written by Krishna Raj, Agnyathavasi is set in the Malenadu region of Karnataka during the late 1990s. It centers on a series of events triggered by the sudden death of a local landlord in the village of Nalkeri. What starts off as a quiet case soon evolves into a layered investigation that pulls in figures from the past, hidden tensions, and long-held secrets.

Rural Murder Mystery With Rangayana Raghu

Veteran actor Rangayana Raghu plays Inspector Govindu, a rural police officer who also doubles as a farmer. His character finds himself at the center of the unfolding mystery, which soon reveals ties to an unresolved case from the 1970s. Alongside him, Paavana Gowda features as Pankaja, a young woman connected to the landlord's family, while Siddu Moolimani plays Rohit, a villager introducing the community to its first computer-symbolic of the change creeping into the otherwise still rural setting.

The cast also includes Sharath Lohitashwa as Srinivasaiah, the landlord whose death sparks the investigation, and Ravishankar Gowda as Ananthu, another officer involved in the case. Yamuna Srinidhi, Hari Samashti, and others form the supporting cast.

Agnyathavasi was produced under the Dakshayini Talkies banner by Hemanth M Rao, Prachura P P, and Jayalakshmi. The film's technical crew features Advaitha Gurumurthy as the director of photography, Charan Raj as the composer, and Bharath MC in charge of editing.

Exploring themes like guilt, memory, and the undercurrents of rural life, Agnyathavasi presents a slow-burning narrative through its murder mystery structure.
