Ranganaya Raghu's Agnyathavasi has opened to a positive response from fans and critics alike in Karnataka. Fans are heaping praises not only on the actor but also the supporting cast, story, director and the entire cast and crew of Agnyathavasi.

Meanwhile, the Twitter page 'Karnataka Box Office' penned a detailed review on X that read, #
Films like #Agnyathavasi are a rarity in Kannada cinema. We don't often come across such stories. It is a mystery thriller that leans more towards drama than conventional thrills.
What sets this film apart is its narrative approach. It breaks several stereotypes associated with thriller storytelling. Rather than a fast paced, edge of the seat experience, Agnyathavasi takes a more dramatic route, drawing the audience in within the first 15 minutes. The presentation feels fresh and the storytelling remains deeply rooted in a native setup. The pacing and style are reminiscent of Hemanth Rao's slow-burn narratives.
A huge credit goes to Janardhan Chikkanna, the man behind this craft. Known for #Gultoo, he once again proves his prowess as a filmmaker. His vision is artistic, detailed and refreshingly unique making #Agnyathavasi stand out in the crowd. We felt that he has a bit of a Hemanth Rao influence, perhaps due to the slow presentation and meticulous detailing.
The casting is impeccable. While Rangayana Raghu delivers a powerhouse performance in the final half-hour, it's Siddu Moolimani, Pavana and Ravi Shankar who truly surprise us. Their performances add layers to the film, elevating it beyond expectations.
Charan Raj's background score is nothing short of phenomenal. He is in his SSE mode, lifting the film to an entirely new level with his music. Naguvina nesara song and BGM stays with us for long. The cinematography is exceptional, complemented by top-tier VFX that adds visual depth to the storytelling.
#Agnyathavasi demands attention and deserves to be experienced on the big screen. Some of its metaphorical shots will surely appeal to fans of Hemanth Rao's style of filmmaking.
PS : "If this film had been made in Malayalam or Tamil, it would have easily been a blockbuster. (sic)"
Earlier, Rakshit Shetty gave a shoutout to Agnayathavasi after the trailer was dropped.
