Akhanda 2 Karnataka Premiere Shows Advance Booking: Nandamuri Balakrishna's Film Crosses ₹1 Crore

Akhanda 2 Karnataka Premiere Shows Advance Booking: The Telugu fantasy action drama Akhanda 2: Thaandavam began its premiere screenings in India on December 11, 2025, at 9 pm, ahead of its worldwide theatrical release scheduled for December 12. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the film is produced by Raam Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena under the banners of 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment. The film is a sequel to the 2021 release Akhanda, with Nandamuri Balakrishna reprising his central role, supported by Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Kabir Duhan Singh.
The technical team for the film includes Thaman S as the music composer, C Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae handling cinematography, and Tammiraju overseeing editing. Akhanda 2 Karnataka Premiere Advance Sales
Ahead of the official release, Akhanda 2 has recorded significant advance ticket sales in Karnataka. According to a post by box office tracker Karnataka Talkies on X (formerly Twitter) at 8:28 pm on December 11, the film crossed ₹1 crore in premiere gross from advance bookings alone, even with less than 30 minutes remaining before the start of the premiere shows. This milestone reportedly makes it the fifth non-Kannada film to achieve a ₹1 crore-plus mark in Karnataka premiere collections.
The film was originally scheduled to release on December 5, 2025. However, the release was postponed after the Madras High Court issued a stay following a petition filed by Eros International against 14 Reels Plus Entertainment over an unresolved financial dispute. The court has since cleared the matter, allowing the film to proceed with its theatrical release on December 12.
The premiere screenings on December 11 marked the first opportunity for audiences to see the film in cinemas. Advance bookings indicate early interest in the film across Karnataka, though full box office performance and critical responses will become clearer after the public release. The film's screenings are expected to continue across India and overseas from December 12, as theaters begin regular showings.
