Kantara A Legend Chapter-1 Making Video: With just over two months to go for its global theatrical release, the team behind Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has officially unveiled the much-anticipated making video of the film. The behind-the-scenes footage was shared on social media platforms at 10:35 AM today.

Upon releasing the video, Hombale Films shared a note on their official social media platforms, writing: "Wrap Up... The Journey Begins Presenting #WorldOfKantara ~ A Glimpse into the making." Describing the film as "a divine journey, deeply rooted in our culture, brought to life with unwavering dedication, relentless hard work, and incredible team spirit," the team expressed excitement for the theatrical release, noting that the shooting of the film has now officially wrapped. "Can't wait to see you all in theatres on October 2nd, as this legendary tale unfolds on big screens worldwide," the message concluded.

Prequel to 2022's Kantara, Set for October Release

Directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner, Kantara: Chapter 1 serves as a prequel to the 2022 film Kantara: Chapter 2.

Reportedly set in pre-colonial Karnataka, the film revisits the origins of the sacred Bhuta Kola tradition, drawing connections to divine land guardianship during the rule of the Kadamba dynasty of Banavasi.

The film's music and background score are composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, with additional contributions from musicians including Durgaprasad on rudraveena, Balasubramani on nadaswaram, and Kiron on flute.

The co-writers are Anirudh Mahesh and Shanil Gowtham. The production design is helmed by Vinesh Banglan, cinematography is by Arvind S. Kashyap, and the costume design is by Pragathi Shetty.The cast includes Rishab Shetty in a dual role, alongside Jayaram and Rakesh Poojari. Filming began in November 2023, with the first look and teaser launched later that same month. The film is slated for a worldwide release on October 2, 2025, in Kannada, with dubbed versions in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English.

With the release of the making video, Hombale Films is aiming to build momentum ahead of the theatrical launch, giving viewers an early look at the creative process and scale of one of Kannada cinema's most awaited projects of the year.
