Karki: Social Drama Rooted In Caste Struggle To Stream Online

At the heart of Karki is the story of Muthuraj, a young man who encounters caste-based discrimination during his pursuit of education and justice. The narrative follows his journey through these systemic challenges and explores themes of dignity, resistance, and the social barriers that persist in contemporary society.

The film was shot across multiple locations in Karnataka, including Shimoga, Davanagere, Hubli, Kolar, Bangalore, and Channapatna. Certain sequences, especially those involving dogs, were filmed in Kyasinakere and Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), chosen for their specific landscape and setting. The cinematography was handled by Rishikesh, while the editing was jointly done by Sri Crazy Mindz and Raaj Krss.

Arjun Janya composed the film's music, with notable songs like "Kannale" featuring vocals by Shreenidhi G Shastry and Manasa Holla, and lyrics penned by Kaviraj. The film received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.

With Karki now arriving on SunNXT, the digital release offers viewers an opportunity to revisit or newly experience this socially rooted drama. As Kannada cinema continues to explore adaptations and socially conscious narratives, Karki joins a growing list of films accessible to audiences beyond the theatrical space.
