Hombale Co-Founder Chaluve Gowda Shares His Insights

Chaluve Gowda, Co-founder of Hombale Films, was present at the prestigious WAVES Summit 2025, World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit, hosted by the I & B ministry, Government of India, in Mumbai. The landmark event, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, aims to spotlight the growth, innovation, and global potential of India's media and entertainment sector.

In a compelling panel discussion featuring A. Sreekar Prasad (Editor of RRR) and Ujwal Nirgudkar (Oscar Committee Member & Technical Advisor, Film Federation of India), Gowda offered insights into Hombale Films' international ambitions. He revealed that Kantara Chapter 1 is being strategically tailored for the Oscars, marking a significant leap for the Kannada film industry on the global stage.

He also emphasized the need for greater awareness and education around Oscar submissions, stating, "There's clear gap in understanding the Oscar application and campaigning process. Workshops could empower more Indian creators to aim globally."

Hombale Films, the powerhouse behind KGF, Kantara, and Salaar, also served as Associate partner for the WAVES Bazaar, a vibrant marketplace connecting global buyers and sellers at the summit. The initiative has emerged as one of the summit's most successful platforms, encouraging valuable cross-border collaborations.
