Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Collection Day 4: Animated Mythological Film Crosses ₹21 Crore In India

Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Collection: Ashwin Kumar's animated mythological feature Mahavatar Narsimha has completed its first four days in theaters, collecting an estimated ₹21.95 crore net across India, according to box office tracking platform Sacnilk. The film, which opened on July 25, is the inaugural entry in a planned franchise based on the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu.
Backed by Kleem Productions and Hombale Films, Mahavatar Narsimha depicts the well-known mythological story of Prahlada and his oppressive father, Hiranyakashipu. The story builds to a dramatic confrontation when Lord Vishnu appears in his fourth avatar, Narsimha, a half-man, half-lion form, to defeat the demon king.
Weekend Growth Followed by Expected Monday Dip; Hindi Version Leads Collections
After a slow start on Friday with ₹1.75 crore, the film saw substantial gains over the weekend. Saturday's earnings rose to ₹4.6 crore, followed by a sharp uptick on Sunday, which brought in ₹9.5 crore, driven primarily by strong performance in the Hindi belt. The film continues to enjoy a favorable reception among audiences. However, collections on Monday dipped by nearly 36% from Sunday to ₹6.1 crore, a trend consistent with most theatrical releases.
Here's a day-wise breakdown of the all-language India net collections based on the Sacnilk report:
Day 1 (Friday): ₹1.75 crore
Day 2 (Saturday): ₹4.6 crore
Day 3 (Sunday): ₹9.5 crore
Day 4 (Monday): ₹6.1 crore
Total: ₹21.95 crore
Language-wise, the Hindi version has been the clear driver of revenue, contributing over ₹15 crore so far. The Telugu and Kannada versions have added moderate support, while the Tamil and Malayalam collections remain minimal.
The film is available in five languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, and has been positioned as a large-scale pan-Indian animation movie. It features music by Sam CS and a screenplay written by Jayapurna Das and Rudra Pratap Ghosh.
Mahavatar Narsimha is not just a standalone project; it is reportedly the beginning of a long-term cinematic plan that includes sequels like Mahavatar Parshuram (2027) and Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029) and concludes with a two-part finale on Mahavatar Kalki (2035 and 2037).
The film's performance over the weekdays will be crucial in determining the viability and scale of the upcoming installments. The absence of competing animated or mythological films in the current release slate may offer the film some breathing room for steady weekday collections.
