Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Collection Prediction: Will Animated Epic Maintain Momentum On First Monday?

Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Collection: The animated mythological feature Mahavatar Narsimha has wrapped up its opening weekend with a total India net collection of approximately ₹15.85 crore, according to estimates from box office tracking platform Sacnilk. Directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Kleem Productions in collaboration with Hombale Films, the film marks the beginning of a larger franchise based on the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu.
Released in five Indian languages: Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi, Mahavatar Narsimha focuses on the well-known story of Prahlada, the young devotee of Vishnu, and his confrontation with his tyrannical father, Hiranyakashipu. The narrative culminates with the appearance of Lord Vishnu's fourth avatar, the fierce and symbolic Narsimha.
Mahavatar Narsimha: Box Office Performance So Far
The film's trajectory at the box office has shown encouraging growth through the weekend. After a relatively modest start on Friday with ₹1.75 crore, Saturday saw a surge to ₹4.6 crore, followed by an even steeper climb on Sunday with ₹9.5 crore. The Sunday spike was largely driven by strong Hindi belt performance, which contributed ₹6.75 crore alone. The Telugu and Kannada versions have also shown moderate traction.
While the weekend numbers reflect growing interest and positive word-of-mouth, industry analysts remain cautious ahead of Monday's collection. First Monday figures often determine a film's staying power, particularly for animation projects, which typically face a sharper drop once the core family audience has been exhausted.
Mahavatar Narsimha: Box Office Forecast
With no major competing releases in the animated or mythological genres, Mahavatar Narsimha holds a relatively uncontested position in its niche. If the film manages to sustain a smaller weekday drop, its cumulative total could see steady growth over the week. However, performance in the coming days will be critical in determining its long-term box office potential.
According to a post by YouTuber and film critic Ravi Chaudhary, Mahavatar Narsimha has already outperformed earlier animated religious films like Hanuman (2005), Arjun (2012), and Hanuman vs Mahiravana (2018), which earned ₹12 crore, ₹9 crore, and ₹4 crore, respectively. With a ₹14 crore net collection in just four days across 500+ screens, Ravi notes that the film is "eyeing record-breaking lifetime collections." He also highlights the film's large-scale production and what he describes as the "strongest word of mouth ever for an animated mythological film," suggesting that Mahavatar Narsimha could emerge as the most commercially successful entry in its genre to date.
The film reportedly is part of a broader cinematic universe, with sequels such as Mahavatar Parshuram (2027) and Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029) already in development. The performance of this first installment is likely to influence both the production scale and distribution strategy of future entries.
As Monday figures roll in, all eyes will be on whether the film can hold its ground and build toward a stronger-than-expected lifetime gross.
