Ranya Rao's Picture From Police Custody Goes Viral: Kannada Kannada actress, who was caught by the customs personnel for illegally smuggling gold bars from Dubai, is now visibly shaken after the arrest. The actress is the stepdaughter of a Karnataka region IPS Officer Ramachandra Rao. The actress was reportedly in possession of Gold bars worth Rs 12.56 Crore, which is 15 Kilos. As the valuable metal was seized, Ranya Rao was arrested along with her husband Jatin Hukkeri at the Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport. The latest update in the case reveals the actress's picture after her arrest.

Ranya Rao was caught smuggling Gold from her insanely frequent number of flights to Dubai and back. She was found guilty of the possession of yellow metal and her travel history proves that she flew to the country as many as 27 times already in 2025. Her travel history is what prompted the officials to put her under the scanner. On March 3, the DRI officials reprimanded her at the airport security as she was about to get clearance.

According to a report on HT, Ranya Rao was paid Rs 1 lakh per kilo of the Gold she smuggled and she made about Rs 12-13 lakh per trip. Also, the actress used modified jackets and waist belts several times to defy the protocols and operate the activity. She always used the same jackets and was found hiding the bars in the jacket at the time of her arrest.

The actress applied for bail but the Economic Offences Court reserved the order on her bail petition. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) sought further custody to interrogate more about the crime and how she managed to smuggle such a huge quantity of the metal multiple times. On the other hand, Ranya Rao acted in two Kannada films and a Tamil film after her acting debut in 2014.
