Sanju Weds Geetha 2 To Re-Release: The Kannada romantic drama Sanju Weds Geetha 2, directed by Nagashekar, is gearing up for a re-release with an updated version featuring 20 minutes of additional visuals, according to a report by TV9 Kannada.

The film, starring Srinagar Kitty and Rachita Ram in lead roles, initially hit theaters on January 17, 2025, but failed to resonate with audiences, receiving mixed to negative reviews. Critics and viewers pointed out several shortcomings, prompting the filmmakers to reportedly halt screenings on January 20, just three days after its release. According to the report, to address these issues, the team plans to rework the film and offer a refreshed version to the audience.

Despite its connection to the 2011 film Sanju Weds Geetha in name, Sanju Weds Geetha 2 is not a sequel, as the storylines are unrelated. The film's journey to the big screen has been fraught with challenges. Originally slated for release in April 2024, delays pushed the date multiple times, eventually setting it for January 10, 2025. However, legal issues reportedly related to an unresolved financial dispute further delayed the release of the film. The dispute involved allegations of non-repayment of a loan taken during the production of a previous project by the director. After the court lifted the stay order, the film finally premiered on January 17, only to receive a tepid reception.

Sanju Weds Geetha 2 Re-Release with Enhanced Content

According to the report, the revamped version of Sanju Weds Geetha 2 will include newly shot sequences, with an emphasis on enhancing its comedy, sentiment, and action elements. Additionally, changes to the musical score and editing will be made, and the updated film will undergo a fresh round of censorship.

The storyline centers on Srinagar Kitty as a silk farmer and Rachita Ram as a wealthy woman's daughter who wins a "Miss Karnataka" competition while wearing a saree made by Kitty. Their love story forms the crux of the narrative.
