A junior artist, MF Kapil, drowned in the Kollur Souparnika River during a break on the set of Kantara Chapter 1. An investigation is underway as production for Kantara 2 continues unaffected.

Death On Kantara Chapter 1 Set: An unfortunate event occurred on the set of "Kantara Chapter 1," starring Rishab Shetty, on Tuesday afternoon. A junior artist, MF Kapil from Kerala, tragically drowned in the Kollur Souparnika River. Reports suggest that Kapil went for a swim during a lunch break and was swept away by a strong current.

Local authorities and the fire department quickly initiated a search and rescue operation. Despite their efforts, Kapil's body was recovered later that evening. The Kollur police station has registered a case, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. May his soul rest in peace!

Kantara 2 Setbacks

This isn't the first mishap on the sets of "Kantara 2." Previously, a bus carrying junior artists overturned in Kollur, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. Additionally, a massive film set was destroyed due to unexpected wind and rain conditions.

Speculation arose about potential delays in the production of "Kantara 2" due to these incidents. However, last month, the filmmakers confirmed that there would be no postponement. The movie is scheduled for release on October 2, 2025.

Kantara's Box Office Success

The original "Kantara," a Kannada film released in 2022, received an overwhelming response. It was later dubbed into multiple languages, including Hindi. At the box office, it amassed Rs. 309 crore overall, with its Hindi version contributing Rs. 84 crore to this total.

Fans eagerly await "Kantara 2," which serves as a prequel to the original film. This anticipation is why it has been titled "Kantara Chapter 1." The success of its predecessor has heightened expectations for this upcoming release.

The tragic incident involving MF Kapil has cast a shadow over the production of "Kantara Chapter 1." As investigations continue, fans hope for safer conditions on set and eagerly anticipate the film's release next year.
