UI OTT Release: Expected Streaming Date And Platform Of Upendra's Sci-fi Dystopian Action Film

UI OTT Release: Kannada filmmaker Upendra's ambitious sci-fi dystopian action film UI hit theaters on December 20, 2024, during the Christmas weekend. Directed by Upendra and produced by Lahari Films and Venus Entertainers, the film features a star-studded cast, including Upendra, Reeshma Nanaiah, Nidhi Subbaiah, Murali Sharma, Sadhu Kokila, and Indrajit Lankesh. With music composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography by H. C. Venugopal, UI opened to mixed reviews from both critics and audiences.
As per OTTPlay, Upendra's sci-fi dystopian action film UI is expected to stream on ZEE5 from March 30. However, the makers have yet to make an official announcement regarding the digital release. Meanwhile, fans are eagerly looking forward to its OTT premiere to watch the film from the comfort of their homes.
UI Storyline
Set in a dystopian world, UI delves into the psychological battle between Sathya and Kalki while examining the consequences of misusing power, knowledge, and technology, ultimately leading to the downfall of humanity and the destruction of Earth.
UI Cast and Crew
The UI features Upendra in a triple role as Sathya, Kalki, and himself. Reeshma Nanaiah plays Nandini, while Sadhu Kokila appears as Joker, a clown in town. The cast also includes Vinayak Trivedi, Murali Sharma as Kiran Adarsh (a character based on film analyst and trade expert Taran Adarsh), Indrajit Lankesh, Nidhi Subbaiah, Om Sai Prakash, Guruprasad, P. Ravi Shankar, Achyuth Kumar, Hamsa Prathap, Neetu, and Lasya Nagraj.
UI was directed by Upendra, with G. Manoharan and Sreekanth KP producing the film under the Lahari Films and Venus Entertainers banners. Naveen Manoharan served as the co-producer, while executive producers included G. Thulasiram (Lahari Velu), G. Ramesh, G. Anand, Chandru Manoharan, and Nagendra.
The film's technical team featured DOP H.C. Venu, music composer B. Ajaneesh Loknath, and editor Vijay Raj BG. Shivakumar J handled art direction, with stunts coordinated by Thriller Manju, Ravi Varma, and Chethan D'Souza. Choreography was led by Chinni Prakash and Imran Sardariya. VFX supervision was done by Nirmal Kumar (Radiance Fx), while Ashik Kusugolli served as the colorist. VG Rajen handled sound design, and L. Satish Kumar was the Dolby Atmos engineer.
The direction team included co-director M.N. Krishna Lekhana and associate directors Vivek Datta and Prashanth A.P. Kannada distribution was handled by KVN Productions, with Geetha Film Distribution managing Telugu, Zee Studios handling Hindi, and AP International Films distributing in Tamil and Malayalam. Publicity and marketing were managed by Puneeth Kumar and Walls & Trends, with publicity designs by Kaani Studio.
