Manjula Shruthi (Kannada TV Serial Actress) Stabbed By Husband; Hospitalized

According to Mathruibhumi English, Kannada actress Manjula Shruthi was recently rushed to the Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru after being stabbed multiple times by her husband Amresh on her chest, neck and ribs. The shocking incident reportedly took place on July 4, 2025, at the couple's residence in Hanumanthanagar.

As per Deccan Herald, Manjula's husband had allegedly sprayed pepper spray on her face after she opened the door and shoved her to the wall while catching her by the hair. As per the police, the incident occurred over marital discord. "On July 4th after the children went to college, Amaresh fought with the victim and repeatedly stabbed her after using pepper spray on her face. The neighbours, after hearing her cry, rescued her and took her to a nearby hospital in an autorickshaw. As it was a medico legal case, the police who were informed rushed to the victim's house and arrested her husband," the officer claimed as per The New Indian Express report.

The actress has now been discharged from the hospital after receiving medical treatment. As claimed by Republic World, Manjula's husband suspected her of having an having an affair allegedly.

Manjula Shruthi Husband Arrested

As per the same Deccan Herald report, Manjula Shruthi had filed a police complaint against her husband, Amresh, on April 4 before moving out with her kids. As per media reports, the accused, booked under section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, was arrested by the police. He reportedly moved to a sessions court for bail lastw eek on Tuesday but the court posted the matter for orders on July 16.

Popular Kannada TV serial actress Manjula Shruthi, whose real name is Manjula C, is widely known for her role in the popular Kannada daily soap 'Amruthadhare'. She is also quite popular for hosting television shows.

As per the police, Manjula Shruthi (38) and Amresh (49) fell in love and got married twenty years ago and welcomed two children (both daughters). Reportedly, 5 years after their marriage, Amresh, who is said to be an auto driver, started harassing his wife Manjula over money and other domestic issues.

The couple was living separately and ended up reconciling recently.
