Rishab Shetty Sparks Rift Buzz After Unfollowing Rukmini Vasanth & Raj B Shetty Post Kantara Chapter 1: Report

Rishab Shetty’s Instagram activity has stirred discussion about potential rifts with Kantara collaborators. While production accounts appear missing, there is no official confirmation. The ongoing dialogue also touches on the upcoming Jai Hanuman project and its prospects for the Kantara universe.

Rishab Shetty has drawn attention after Instagram users noticed a change in the actor-director’s following list. The Kantara: Chapter 1 lead has reportedly stopped following several known collaborators, which has prompted fresh chatter online. Social media users are now debating whether the move hints at a new rift.

Fans first pointed out that Rishab Shetty no longer follows co-stars Rukmini Vasanth and Raj B Shetty on Instagram. Reports also say the accounts linked to Kantara makers and production house Hombale Films are missing from the list. There is, however, no official word about any dispute.

Rishab Shetty rift rumours and Instagram moves

According to coverage including Bangalore Times, checks on Rishab Shetty’s account show both former co-stars absent from the following section. The same appears true for the Kantara production banner. Yet Rishab Shetty still follows Hombale Films founder Vijay Kiragandur, suggesting personal ties might remain intact despite the online shuffle.

Rishab Shetty rift rumours after Kantara: Chapter 1

Before these Instagram changes, Rishab Shetty’s last major work was Kantara: Chapter 1, where Rishab Shetty directed and also played the lead. The prequel is set centuries before Kantara and traces the clash between a royal bloodline and a tribal community over land, faith and authority.

The story centres on a harsh king who seizes territory belonging to the peaceful Kantara tribe. The conquest brings the anger of Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva, the divine forces guarding the land. As generations pass, the film examines conflicts around power and inheritance, with a cast featuring Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah, Pramod Shetty, Rakesh Poojari and Prakash Thuminad.

Rishab Shetty rift rumours and future project Jai Hanuman

Beyond Kantara, Rishab Shetty is preparing for Jai Hanuman, a large-scale mythological film directed by Prasanth Varma. The project follows the success of Hanu-Man (2024). Rishab Shetty is set to portray Lord Hanuman, with filming starting after a pooja ceremony in Hampi in February 2026, which has built expectations among followers of the genre.

For now, discussion around Rishab Shetty is focused less on sets and more on social media activity. Until Rishab Shetty or the Kantara team address the matter, talk of disagreements remains speculation. Viewers continue tracking Instagram for hints, while also waiting for updates on the Kantara franchise and Jai Hanuman’s progress.
