Toxic Synopsis: Actor Yash has shared fresh details about his upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, offering insight into its narrative, themes, and creative approach during a recent interaction with Screen Daily.

Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Yash described Toxic as a father-and-son revenge saga set after India gained independence, when Goa remained under Portuguese control until 1961. As reported by Screen Daily, he pointed to the sense of "mystery" surrounding that time and place as an important backdrop for the story.
Yash said the film is set in a gangster era and deals with themes such as greed, power, and politics, while also focusing on emotions and relationships. He added that the story goes deeper than a conventional gangster narrative and described it as a love story as well.
The film is directed by Geethu Mohandas, known for Liar's Dice and Moothon. Speaking about the collaboration, Yash said Mohandas comes from the world of international film festivals, while he has been associated with large-scale action films. He noted that Toxic brings together these two approaches in an attempt to find a balance that feels familiar to a global audience while also being refreshing.
Yash also said there are strong expectations for the film in India and that the team is aiming to make it a crossover, cross-cultural project. He added that with both Toxic and Ramayana, the goal is to bring together different worlds so that audiences can experience varied cultures while being entertained.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is currently in production and will feature Yash in the role of Ravana alongside Ranbir Kapoor. However, Toxic is set to arrive first, with a scheduled theatrical release on June 4, 2026, in India and the United States.
