Vikalpa OTT Release: The Kannada mystery thriller Vikalpa is preparing for its digital debut after completing its theatrical run earlier this year. Released in cinemas on January 30, 2026, the film revolves around psychological conflict, hidden trauma and the fragile boundary between reality and imagination.

Written and directed by Pruthviraj Patil, Vikalpa features the filmmaker in a leading role alongside Nagashree Hebbar. The cast also includes Harini Shreekanth, Sandhya Vinayak, Vaddinagadde Ganapati Hegde, Swaroop Buchh, Pooja Buchh and several other actors. The project was produced by Smt. Indira Shivaswamy under the banner of Suru's Talkies.

At the centre of the story is a powerful corporate leader whose life begins to change as terrifying hallucinations and buried trauma resurface. As he gradually loses his grip on reality, the line between truth and illusion becomes increasingly blurred. The film follows his struggle to understand what is real while confronting the fears and memories that continue to haunt him.

The story unfolds as a psychological mystery where certainty becomes difficult to find. As the protagonist searches for answers, unexpected developments add to the confusion surrounding his experiences. Through its blend of suspense and mystery, Vikalpa explores a world where reality itself becomes difficult to trust.

Behind the scenes, Vikalpa was developed from a screenplay written by Pruthviraj Patil, Mithun Thirthahalli and Suresh Arumugam. The cinematography was handled by Abhiram Gowda, while Suresh Arumugam also took charge of editing. The film's music was composed by Samvatsara.

The production team additionally included associate director Mithun Thirthahalli, executive producer Lohith Naik and production manager Dhananjaya Vadagere. Visual effects and digital intermediate work were completed by Future Age Studios, with Karthik Ananth serving as colourist.
