Well known T.N.Seetharam's new film Meera Maadhava Raaghava is a quality film with a good story content and some good performances from artists. But the film’s undoing is its technical content and very amateurish narration of the first half of the film. The second half of the film picks up some tempo, but again peters down midway. Only four or five sequences before the climax are very well narrated.

Meera Maadhvar Raaghava has all the elements of the popular tele serials of Seetharam is a master story teller in the serial field, but he should know that the film medium requires something more and something different. A film has to basically conceived on the writing table as much as in the visual presentation. While Seetharam has done a commendable job on the writing table, he has utterly failed to recognize the technical requirements of the film.

Seetharam has the knack of writing some realistic sequences which have a tinge of crime and political angle. He shows his prowess in linking these unrelated criminal incidents with the main story and narrates how these incidents cast a shadow on the lives of the leading characters in Meera Maadhva Raaghava. He deserves Kudos for writing such a good story. His handling of the climax and a few sequences before the climax should be appreciated.

It also surprises as to how an award winning and contemporary cinematographer like H.M.Ramachandra compromised with this sort of technical narrative of the film. And Music director Hamsalekha has also failed to provide good musical content for the film. Many sequences after the marriage of Meera and Raaghava that happen in their respective families are amateurishly shot. This is one reason why the entire first half disappoints.

Tilak is outstanding in the role of Raghava and it is difficult to remember any other artist who has excelled in a negative role in recent times. Tilak leaves a lasting impression with his right emotions and menacing looks. Diganth looks handsome in the first half and he has matched the requirements of the role. Seetharam has been able to get good performances from all the artists.

Watch this movie for Tilak’s powerful performance and Seetharam’s powerful dialogues.
