Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe - Review

    By Super

What will one expect from a director who has rendered three consecutive hits like Kariya, Excuse Me and Jogi? Of course another big hit!!! But Ashwini Ramprasad's Rs. 8 crore venture, Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe, with filmmaker Prem debuting as a hero, fails to meet the expectations of his fans.

Young Chandru (Prem), a ticket-seller at the city bus station feels that he will surely meet the girl of his dreams one day, a thought that is supported by his friends too. Similarly Sandhya (Namratha), who lives in a village, is confident God has made a boy especially for her, a boy who is waiting for her somewhere in the world, a thought infused in her mind by her father.

Sandhya happens to come to the city for attending a folk festival. This is when she first meets Chandru and they both experience a different kind of feeling when they meet. A series of incidents that take place thereafter makes their friends believe that Chandru and Sandhya are made for each other. However, both Chandru and Sandhya don't express their feelings to each other. Meanwhile, Chandru's friend Indu also develops a liking towards him.

Chandru and Sandhya's friends decide to bring them together and cement their relationship. They finally meet again just as the movie ends, without throwing any light on their future, leaving the viewers confused.

Prem, who gained tremendous success with his previous films, could not create an impact as an actor. Rohini and Namratha have done their parts well. The major drawback of the film is its script.

The guest appearances by Balagangadaranatha Swamiji, Muthappa Rai, Vinayaprakash, Ambareesh and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy do not help much.

Music Director R.P. Patnaik has done an average job. Only two songs of the film are good, 'Neene neene' and 'Chandamama'. Mallika Sherawat's item number is strictly ok.

    Cinematography by Seenu is good.
