Kencha - Review

By By: Shekhar H Hooli

Not many days have passed after the release of PN Sathya directed movie Hattrick Hodi Maga, which has turned utter flop at the Box Office. Now the director has come out with another plain story. He does not seem to have learnt anything from his previous flop movies.

Besides direction, he has taken responsibilities of writing the script and dialogues. He has gone even a step further and played a pivotal role in the movie. The director has failed to bring a fresh concept on the screen. The story revolves around a virtuous son fighting a villainous father.

PN Sathya"s movie Kencha is another stale story with uninteresting narration. The story seems to have brought out on the screens many times earlier. Although Kencha is not a remake, it is surely a rubbished form of Ajay Devgan starrer Phool Aur Kante, which was released two decades ago.

Rahul is a college student. He likes taking up challenges in life. Pashupathi is his father. But Rahul hates his father for he thinks that he has killed his mother. The confrontation between Rahul and Pashupathi will form the story.

Director PN Sathya has once again proved that he cannot be a good writer and director. He can be better actor. The punch dialogues, written by him, seem to have heard many times earlier. He has even failed to use actors like Tilak, Sharath Lohithashwa properly. The biggest mistake of the director is that he has ignored comic element, which may cost him the failure of the movie Kencha.

The movie is a show of Prajwal Devaraj. He rocks the audiences in action and dance sequences. But he appears too young to play the role. Ganesha Maththe Bandha fame actress Pragna has been used as glam doll. The talented actress does everything except acting. Both the upcoming actors Prajwal and Pragna, who are struggling for a break, should carefully look into their role before signing a script.

Rajesh Ramanath's music is another minus point of the movie. It fails to appeal the audience. Although Ravi's camera work is not so effective, some of the scenes touch the heart of audience.

Overall, Kencha is banal and boring movie with no newness. One needs lot of patience to watch the movie.

Kencha can be ignored.
