Dildaara - Movie Review

Debutant director Amar's movie Dildaara is a wonderful contribution to the Kannada film industry. Although the movie has a simple story, Amar has given a new and different look to it. The film proves that he has definitely got a few new ideas that are very essential for Sandalwood.

Dildaara has a very thin story, which is all about the bonding between father and son. It has a good old love story too. Rangayan Raghu's acting is the main highlight of the film. The simple and meaningful dialogues, Praveen D Rao's music, Ravikiran's picturisation are the other plus points of the film.

Ranga (Rangayan Raghu) runs a petty tea stall near a railway track and Jaga (Aman) is an orphan boy brought up by him. Jaga earns his livelihood by sticking wall posters. While doing so, he saves homeless Jyothi (Reshma Chengappa) from goons and gives her shelter at his home. He falls in love with her, but is shocked to know that she is already in love with someone. What happens next will be an interesting part of the film and it should be watched on screen.

Rangayan Raghu steals the show as a poor father. He has delivered wonderful performance. Debut actor Aman also impresses the viewers in several sequences. Even Reshma Chengappa becomes closer to heart of the audience without having enough of make up.

Praveen D Rao has scored a few good numbers and two songs of them are really worth listening. Especially the song 'Honge Marada...' is very heart touching. Toranagatte Ravikiran's camera work is also commendable.

The film Dildaara is not out of weakness. There are a few unnecessary song sequences and other sequences showing villain, which should have been trimmed. Except these things, the movie is a feast.
