The
much-expected
Kicha
Sudeep
starrer
movie
Mr.
Theertha
(Mr.
Teertha)
has
finally
hit
the
screens.
Director
Sadhu
Kokila
has
made
the
audience
wait
for
long,
but
it
is
worth
that
he
has
done
an
enjoyable
cocktail
film.
Mr.
Theertha
is
a
remake
of
Mohanlal
and
Thilakan
starrer
Malayalam
movie
Spadikam
and
Sadhu
Kokila
has
best
adapted
it
to
Kannada.
He
has
changed
few
aspects
from
the
original
to
suit
the
taste
of
the
local
audience.
For
example
Malayalam
film
revolves
around
Christian
family
story,
whereas
Kannada
deals
with
a
disciplined
Brahmin
family
and
comedy
scenes
were
not
there
in
original,
but
Sadhu
has
include
comedy
as
a
sub
plot
here.
The
film
is
an
action-packed
film,
but
the
director
has
managed
to
mix
it
with
commercial
elements
like
comedy,
sentiment
and
love
to
make
it
good
watch.
It
deals
with
the
strained
relationship
between
a
father
and
his
son.
The
highlights
of
the
movie
are
Sudeep
and
Ananth
Nag"s
performance,
Sadhu
Kokila"s
crispy
narration,
Gurukiran"s
music
and
confrontation
scenes
between
Theertha
and
his
father.
The
movie
has
a
good
message
to
all
fathers
too.
Narayana
Shastri
(Ananth
Nag)
is
a
strict
mathematics
teacher
and
he
wants
his
son
Teertha
(Sudeep)
should
gain
mastery
over
mathematics,
in
which
he
fails
to
reach
his
expectations.
Instead
he
becomes
an
innovative
mechanic.
But
Shastri
never
recognises
his
talent.
Besides
this,
Theertha
also
fights
against
injustice,
but
his
fight
becomes
obstacle
for
his
sister"s
marriage.
This
irks
his
father
even
more.
How
they
come
together
will
form
the
climax
of
the
story.
As
usual
Sudeep
has
shown
lot
of
energy
in
both
the
action
and
sentimental
scenes.
He
wins
the
heart
of
viewers
with
his
acting
capabilities
and
mannerisms.
Ananth
Nag
has
a
meatier
role
and
has
given
the
essential
dignity
and
subtlety
to
his
role.
His
combination
with
Sudeep
is
a
big
treat
to
watch.
Since
it
is
father-son
story,
Saloni
has
less
scope,
but
she
has
used
the
chance
to
prove
her
mettle.
Geetha,
Doddanna,
Avinash,
Rekha
Neenasam
Ashwath
and
Shobharaj
are
also
good
in
their
respective
roles.
Gurukiran"s
music
is
a
plus
point
of
the
film.
Two
of
his
songs
are
peppy
and
well
captured
in
the
foreign
locations.
Dasari
Srinivasa
Rao"s
camerawork
is
also
good.
However,
the
movie
Mr
Theertha
is
a
good
family
entertainer
with
good
message.
It
should
be
watched
at
least
once.
