Srinagar Kitty, Diganth and Sharmila Mandre starrer Swayamwara is a remake of Bollywood flick Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, but director Ananthraju has cleared all vulgar element from the original and adopted it according the taste of the local audience. He is also successful in making it feel as different from the original.

Swayamwara is a comic love story, which makes the audience laugh for 2 hours 20 minutes. It has also got a message to the audience that one needs to have control over one's short-tempered nature to win his love. Kitty is a quick tempered guy, who is made run out of his village bcause of this nature.

The story revolves around two friends Ajay [Srinagar Kitty] and Vijay [Diganth]. Ajay plays the guitar, paints and fights. He uses all his talents to woo a neighbourhood girl called Anusha [Sharmila Mandre]. But his friend Vijay arrives out of nowhere and creates obstacles for him. What happens next and who wins her heart will be an interesting subject to watch on screen.

Almost all the actors have delivered a decent performance. Srinagar Kitty seems to have put in lots of effort to fit in the role, which is not suitable for his age. Diganth, as a playboy, steals the show. Sharmila uses her glamour to win the hearts of the youths. Her on screen chemistry with Diganth is really a treat. Rangayan Raghu and Umesh's comedy is also good. Sudha Belawadi, Tennis Krishna and MN Lakshmi have also done justice to their respective roles.

Manikanth Khadri's music is successful in getting aesthetic sense to the film. HC Venu has captured the beautiful locations. His camera work is a real treat in the film.

It should be said in the finally that the Swayamwara is an apt title for the movie, which could have been bettered by editing a few unnecessary comedy and song sequence. It is good pastime comedy movie.
