Jai Lalitha - Movie Review


    Comedy actor Sharan's Kannada movie Jai Lalitha has been creating positive ripples in the media several good reasons ever since director Ponu Kumaran announced it. Having got a U/A certificate from the Regional Censor Board, the movie has released in theatres across Karnataka today (June 27). The film will surely meet the expectations that it created before its release.

    Jai Lalitha is comedy entertainer and Sharan's sterling performance is the main highlight in the movie. Pon Kumaran's engaging narration and punch dialogues, Sridhar V Sambhram's music, Karunakar's amazing picturisation, Disha Pandey and Aishwarya Devan's galmour and a few hilarious comedy scenes are other attraction of the film.

    Produced by Indira, Arun Kumar, Manjula Shankar, Jai Lalitha is a remake of Director Jos Thomas' hit Malayalam film Mayamohini. Ponu Kumaran has made a few changes in the Kannada adaptation to suit the taste of local audience in the state. The film has plenty of twists and turns, which has keep the audience glued to the screen right from beginning to end. It has a very fast-paced narration and the director has good grip on the tempo.

    Jai Lalitha revolves around the story of two friends, who venturing into business to earn some quick. When they fail in their attempt, they seek the help of an astrologer, who suggests one of the two to marry a girl born in particular star. After a lot of effort, they meet a beautiful woman (Sharan), who is a man in disguise of a woman. What happens next is a roller coaster fun ride laced with a bit of suspense.

    With his innate comic timing, Sharan is successful transformation himself into a woman. As Jai Lalitha, he has given a brilliant performance, which is the main highlight in the film. He is the showman in it. Lead ladies Disha Pandey and Aishwarya Devan have no much scope for their role. Ravi Shankar Harish Raj, TS Nagabharana and others have delivered brilliant performances for their respective roles.

    Jai Lalitha has decent production values and Sridhar V Sambhram's soundtracks and background score are the main highlights in the technical front. Karunakar's camera work is another big asset of the film. Other technical departments have also delivered a commendable jobs in the movie.

    Overall, Jai Lalitha is good comedy entertainer, which is a show of Sharan. It will be a big treat for the fans of the comedy actor.
