Upendra's latest period action film written and directed by R Chandru finally hit the screens all over the world amid huge fanfare. The movie which stars superstars like Shiva Rajkumar and Kiccha Sudeepa in key roles was released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. Upon its theatrical release, Kabzaa met with a mixed response at the box office with people comparing it to KGF.

Kabzaa is a story set in the pre-independence era. The story follows the life of Arakeshwara, an Air Force soldier, who gets dragged into the vicious world of the underworld. Reluctant Arakeshwara tries to get hold of the underworld and emerges as the most-wanted gangster. The British then commission a stringent cop named Bhargav Bhakshi to deal with Arakeshwara. What happens later is to be seen on the big screen.

Following the image and confidence Kabzaa's director R Chandru garnered, Tollywood power star Pawan Kalyan, who is one of the highest-paid actors, is said to have expressed his interest in collaborating for a project very soon.

R Chandru has written, directed, and co-produced the movie Kabzaa. The cinematography and editing of Kabzaa were taken care of by A J Shetty and Mahesh S Reddy respectively. KGF fame Ravi Basrur composed the film's entire music and background score. R Chandru, Alankar Pandian, and Anand Pandit have produced the movie collectively under the Anand Pandit Motion Pictures, Sri Siddheshwara Enterprises, and Invenio Origin banners. The movie was made on a budget of Rs 120 Crore. On the release day, Kabzaa is estimated to make about Rs 30 Crore at the box office from all languages.
