ADOR Vs NewJeans: Court Rules Against K-Pop Group

The Seoul Central District court accepted ADOR's injunction request that was made last year. Siding with ADOR, the court prohibited the group NewJeans from singing "advertising contract." Indeed the K-pop group girls will no longer be pursuing independent endeavors.

As per TOI's report, the court claimed that if NewJeans "unilaterally terminate their exclusive contract" with the label company ADOR and change their name autonomously, the music label will have to suffer "significant damage." The court claimed that this will not only affect NewJeans's brand value but also ADOR's reputation.

People are now flooding the X with messages like "Together with NJZ." One tweeted, "Keep up with the fight. Bunnies with NJZ always."

NewJeans and ADOR were involved in a heated contract in August last year after allegations against HYBE forcing o rule out the group's star producer Min Hee-Jin ere made. The band group then asked HYBE to issue an ultimatum for Min's reinstatement which the label declined. One of the band member, Hanni then claimed that the group faced "workplace harassment" while working with ADOR. They mentioned "deliberate miscommunications and manipulation" in multiple areas. Back then Hanni said, "This is not the type of work ethic we respect and not one we want to be a part of, and to continue working under a company with no intention of protecting NewJeans would only do us harm."
