A leaked statement that was not released publicly shows Sae-ron having a conversation with her cousin where she is talking about being frustrated with journalists coming and asking about relationship between the two Korean stars. In the leaked statement, Sae-ron's cousin said, "I saw an article saying that you are preparing a statement. I just saw it as I got off work now." To this, Sae-ron replied, "That's not true. It's a false report." Sae-ron then shared her statement with her cousin that she intended to publish but never did. The statement reportedly read, "Hello, this is Kim Sae Ron. Firstly, I wish to apologize to everyone and the industry staff who were affected and confused by my careless actions. Although the media is reporting the rumours which have been spread as falsehoods, I wish to clearly state that that is untrue. The photo uploaded on my Instagram Stories was taken in 2016, and we were dating from November 19, 2015, to July 7, 2021 (sic)."

In these intimate photos, Soo-hyun is seen implanting a kiss on Sae-ron's cheek.

Before her death, Sae-ron reportedly texted Soo-hyun asking for the help. She wrote in her text, "Oppa, it's Sae-ron. I received the content-certified letter. You're suing me... I've been preparing for my return to acting, and I plan to repay you gradually from each project. Please give me time. I'm begging you, help me (sic)."
