As per an Allkpop report, Sae-ron's biological father contacted Kim Sae-ron's landlord a day after her demise for a refund of the deposit amount of 50 million won (about $35,900 USD). That was when he got to know that his daughter didn't pay the rent by herself, instead, it was paid by an executive from an education company.

"This executive, referred to as Mr. A, reportedly paid two different deposits for Kim Sae Ron, with one being for her apartment in Nonhyeon-dong where she lived in 2023, and one being for her apartment in Seongsu-dong where she lived until her death," the media outlet reported.

Amid the chaos, new promotional posters of Knock Off, featuring Kim Soo Hyun, have been allegedly leaked online. While it was being speculated that the posters might a fan-made, it was then released on the IMDb page, hinting at that it came from Disney+'s official source.

However, Disney+ has been facing backlash from a part of the netizen for using Kim Soo-hyun's scandal for their own benefit. One of the fans reacted by saying, "Disney must have gone crazy", while another person commented, "What is Disney doing..."
