An official statement has been released by Disney+ revealing the drama's position currently. On March 21, 2025, Disney+ Korea announced that they have decided to put it 'on hold', "After careful discussion, we have decided to put the release for 'Knockoff' on hold."

The Disney+ show was set to premiere this year in April after most of the shooting has been done. However, considering the current scenario, the global company has decided to put it on hold. The reports also suggested that the actor is most likely to be held liable for the financial loss. To note more, it not only indicates that the show will be postponed but also leaves a possibility of never being released in future as well.

The series stars Kim Soo-Hyun playing the role of Sung-jun, who is called as the king of counterfeiters, alongside Cho Bo-ah as Sung-jun's ex lover Hye-Jung, who investigates on counterfeit goods.

Disney+ decision came on the same day after Kim Soo-Hyun's agency Gold Medalist filed a lawsuit against Kim Sae-Ron's family and Kim Se-ui for revealing the actor's n*ked picture online calling it a 'sexual harassment'.
