Amid this, the Knock Off actor held an emergency press conference on March 31, 2025, where he became emotional while talking about the ongoing issues. True Reason Behind Kim Soo Hyun Emotional Press Meet Revealed

According to the reports, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist is reportedly going through a financial crunch, while many portals reported that the agency is running out of funds. These reports came after it was revealed by Sae Ron's family that the agency tried extorting money from the late actress after her DUI accident. Recent reports also revealed that the agency's financial condition is so bad that it has suspended the contracts with external cleaning services to cut costs. An insider source of Koreaboo revealed to the publication, "It seems the company's funds have run dry."

The company, which once maintained a healthy reserve of ₩2.00 billion KRW (about $1.36 million USD) to ₩3.00 billion KRW (about $2.04 million USD), is now facing financial challenges post cancelled endorsement deals, refunded fees, cancelled events, and ongoing operational costs depsite no income. Reports have further revealed that Gold Medalist is seeking external investment to stabilize its current condition.

Prior to Soo Hyun's press meet, another source revealed that the agency needed to come up with 6 billion KRW in order to halt the next step, potential lay offs, "Before the press conference, I heard they needed to come up with about 6 billion KRW in damages. Recently, they even halted their contract with an external cleaning service. If that's true, layoffs among employees might not be far off," the source stated.

Even in his press conference, Kim Soo Hyun's statement has added further fuel to the rumour, "I wondered how things might have been if I held a press conference at the beginning of it all to clarify everything. Then, I would not have caused so much suffering to the fans who love and support me and the staff at my management company who worked so hard leading up to this conference."

In the press conference, Soo Hyun also added and denied dating a minor Kim Sae Ron, He said, "I'll talk about the part you're most curious about. I did not date the deceased when she was a minor. And it is also not true that the deceased made a tragic choice because of me turning away or because my agency pressured her about her debt."

"Aside from the fact that we were both actors, we were both just ordinary lovers like everyone else. We met with good feelings for each other, and as time passed, we broke up. After that, we rarely contacted each other." Kim Soo Hyun added.
