After which many accusations came from Sae Ron's family and Garosero followed by counter accusations by the Queen of Tears' actor's agency, Gold Medalist, that didn't sit well with the internet. It resulted in Kim Soo Hyun losing thousands of followers on a daily basis post the incident. However, a recent report claimed that the actor has started gaining the followers back after he held the emergency press conference on March 31, 2025, where he spoke up about the issue for the first time.

Kim Soo Hyun Sees Surge In Instagram Followers?

According to a report by Koreaboo, Kim Soo Hyun's Instagram account, which currently has more than 20.2 million followers, has been facing a sharp decline in number of followers since the scandal came into the limelight. While many fans stick to the actor's side, others have accused the actor of being a 'groomer' and 'pedophile' for dating a minor Kim Sae Ron when he was 27 years old. The report suggested that the actor has lost over 1 million followers in the last 30 days amid the ongoing controversy.

However, after the press conference, April 1 onwards, the actor started gaining followers. The report revealed that the actor's Instagram account saw a positive growth in number of followers, means, the number of new followers has outgrown the number of people unfollowing him for the first time in last 20 days. Does it mean that public opinion has started changing towards the actor? Only time will tell.

On the other hand, another report revealed the true agenda of Kim Soo Hyun holding the press conference is his agency facing financial crunch. In his press conference, his comment, "I wondered how things might have been if I held a press conference at the beginning of it all to clarify everything. Then, I would not have caused so much suffering to the fans who love and support me and the staff at my management company who worked so hard leading up to this conference," has added further fuel to this.
